Rita Ora: "Would like to travel to Germany again as soon as possible"

Rita Ora (29, "I Will Never Let You Down") is back musically with her new single "How To Be Lonely". A number that deals with difficult times in a relationship. But there is always a reason for the singer to look ahead, as she reveals in an interview with the news agency spot on news. Ora also spoke about employment opportunities during the Corona crisis, vintage clothing and her soft spot for Germany.

What emotions play a role in your new single "How To Be Lonely"?

Rita Ora: The song is about the feelings you have when you break up. In particular, it is about the moment when you know that you have reached the end of a relationship.

What is the best way to deal with lovesickness?

Ora: You shouldn't think about it too often. It is better to distract yourself. Spending a lot of time with the family, taking care of a pet, pursuing a hobby – whatever that is. Just do things you like and feel good about them.

The song was written by Lewis Capaldi (23, "Someone You Loved"). Does it actually make a difference in performance whether a song was written by you or not?

Ora: The music, the melody and the voice are mostly more important than the language of the text. I always try to convey the emotions more through the sound, less through the words.

You have already worked with many artists. Could you imagine working with a German artist?

Ora: Yes, I can. To be honest, that's already happened. There will be a German remix to "How To Be Lonely". I will announce in the next few days which artist made this remix.

Usually you also appear frequently in Germany. What do you particularly like about the country?

Ora: Germany has very nice places and areas. I always have a very good time there. The fans totally support me. That's why I like to stand on the big stages there. I hope that I can travel to Germany again as soon as possible.

Many people stay at home during the corona crisis. What is your best tip on how to make good use of the time?

Ora: I'm always trying to create new things and stay creative. Of course it is also very important to communicate with your friends and family via video chat programs.

Aside from your own songs: what music do you listen to a lot and can you recommend?

Ora: I'm currently listening to The Weeknd's new album (30, "After Hours") up and down.

It is known that you have a great taste for fashion. How long do you need in the morning to choose the outfit for the day from your wardrobe?

Ora: It usually takes me 20 to 30 minutes to do this.

What role does sustainability play in your outfits?

Ora: Many people are not yet aware of this, but I think that is becoming increasingly important for designers as well as for everyone. I especially love vintage clothes. They often feel even better than new clothing. I think buying a few vintage parts is a good thing.

They are in the media almost every day. Are you actually happy or annoyed?

Ora: I'm not annoyed. For me it's more a way to talk about things that are important to me. I am grateful for that.
