Riverdale: Filming must be interrupted

Because of the ongoing corona pandemic, filming of series such as "Riverdale" and "Batwoman" has to be interrupted.

The corona crisis continues to hold the media industry firmly in its grip. While the production of numerous films and series has been able to restart after a long forced break in the past few weeks, the shooting of other series has to pause again due to the pandemic. It hits among others the Netflix format "Riverdale" and the "Batwoman" series of the US television network "The CW".

According to a report by the industry magazine "Variety", both productions have to take a break because the results of the required corona tests are being delayed in the Canadian province of British Columbia, where the filming is to take place. According to an anonymous source, all of the testing workload rests with a single lab company, which is currently prioritizing results for schools and local businesses.

According to the report, these delays also affect work on the new seasons of "Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl". Actually, both series should therefore be filmed for the first time this week.

Corona case on the set

The production of the NBC hospital series "Chicago Med" has to be suspended for the next two weeks, as reported by the US broadcaster "ET Online". There was a corona case on the set. Although all guidelines were adhered to, a member of the production team tested positive for Covid-19 disease.

The break should not affect the first broadcast of the new season, which will be seen in the US from November 11th. It is currently not known whether the broadcast of the new episodes of the other series mentioned will be affected by possible postponements.
