RK1 in action – rescue: hikers got stuck in the deep snow

Mountain rescuers had to rescue two hikers on Friday at the summit of the triangle. The two Linzers had made no progress due to the large amounts of snow.

The two hikers made an emergency call at around 4 p.m. on Friday. The 27-year-old from Upper Austria and his 29-year-old companion came from Italy and got stuck in the deep snow. Seven men from Villach Mountain Rescue and an ambulance rushed to help them both. The hikers were soaked to their knees. The people of Linz were flown into the valley with the RK1 rescue helicopter.
