The French of DigixArt enjoyed great success in 2021 with Road 96a road trip to the many narrative branches in a country in crisis. Their next project will always be in collaboration with Ravenscourt and will be a prequel stand-alone to their last title: Road 96: Mile 0.
We will live a new adventure in White Sandsthe only rich community of PietraNext Zoeone of the characters of Road 96and Kaitowhich comes from the musical game of DigixArt what is Lost in Harmony. Mile 0 will indeed unite the two universes, by mixing the narrative adventure and the musical passages, journeys in the psyche of the protagonists precisely inspired by Lost in Harmony. Who says musical epic necessarily says soundtrack with small onions, signed by the group of synthwave The Midnightof which we can hear the first piece Land Locked Heart in the trailer.
Road 96: Mile 0 is set in White Sands, Petria’s only wealthy community, just before the road trip begins in the summer of 1996. Players will alternate between two characters: Zoe and Kaito, two teenagers with different backgrounds and opposing beliefs.
Two teenagers, two worlds
Road 96 players will remember Zoe, one of the main characters in the game. She comes from the wealthy part of town and her father works for President Tyrak’s government as the Minister of Petroleum.
Kaito, a character from the game Lost in Harmony, was born in the dark and dangerous side of Colton City and moved with his parents to White Sands in order to find work and escape the pollution present in the city. They have been living here for two years now alongside all the other VIPS and President Tyrak.
Intrigued by the darkness that emanates from him, Zoe grows closer to Kaito and the two become very good friends. By spending time with him, she will discover disturbing facts about her country, but also about her own father.
Do you want to find out the reasons behind Zoe’s escape from her home, as well as the truth behind what really happened in 1986 during the border bombing?
Soon, this friendship will be put to the test. How will this impact their story? Will they remain friends?
Yoan Fanise, CEO of DigixArt says, “In Mile 0, we wanted to show where Zoe came from and why she left her comfortable life behind. However, we didn’t want to do it in a conventional way, we opted for a more delirious way, with musical sequences full of metaphors, in which you go through Zoe and Kaito’s convictions and doubts. The funny thing is that YOU decide how you want them to evolve”.
The inner worlds of Zoe and Kaito
Explore the inner worlds of both characters. Although the narrative aspect remains the central element of Road 96: Mile 0, Zoe and Kaito will skate through psychedelic musical passages. These imaginary excursions are a unique blend of rhythm play and narrative choices, allowing players to influence and shape their emotional journey.
The Midnight
The colorful and retro music Land Locked Heart by The Midnight, an American synthwave band, will be available soon. It is the first single from the soundtrack of Road 96: Mile 0, which enhances the emotional experience of players.
“This song is about the paradox of coming home. Even if it is the place where you grew up and everything around you proves it to you, there comes a time when you feel like you are no longer at home. Eventually, you feel like you have to get away from this place or you have to stay there and continue a story that is no longer yours. We are thrilled to see this title come to life in Road 96: Mile 0,” added band members The Midnight.
