Just in time for Halloween: Director Rob Zombie gave a first glimpse into the shooting of the film “The Munsters”.

Just in time for the scariest season of the year, rock musician and director Rob Zombie (56) shared a first photo of the “The Munsters” characters. Zombie announced in June that he would be filming the scary sitcom of the 1960s. To a black and white picture on Instagram, which shows the three main characters Herman, Lily and Grandpa Munster in front of the mansion at 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Zombie wrote: “With Halloween just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to MEET THE MUNSTERS!” The picture was therefore taken in Hungary, where filming is currently taking place.

Photo confirms the cast

The new photo also confirms the cast: The somewhat naive but lovable father Herman Munster is played by Jeff Daniel Phillips (53). Zombie’s spouse Sheri Moon (51) plays Herman’s wife Lily Dracula-Munster. Dan Roebuck (58) embodies the very old grandfather of the family, Grandpa Munster.

“The Munsters” was a very successful comedy series with horror elements in the 1960s and was even nominated for a Golden Globe in 1965. It ran at the same time as the cult series “The Addams Family”, to which it has many parallels. Both series started at the same time in 1964 and were canceled two years later in the same week.
