Does Robbie Williams like Ryan Reynolds? The musician is also reportedly considering whether he should buy his favorite club.

British singer Robbie Williams, 49, is reportedly preparing “a surprise offer” to buy his beloved football club Port Vale. This is reported by the tabloid “The Sun”. The club from Stoke-on-Trent currently plays in the third division League One. According to the report, Williams will be supported by a consortium in a possible takeover of the club. There is also talk of a potential TV spin-off to purchase the club.

The pop star was named the club’s new president at the weekend, according to The Sun. If he were to succeed in his alleged offer, Robbie Williams could, according to rumors, “close a lucrative streaming deal”, similar to the takeover of the Welsh club AFC Wrexham by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds (47) and Rob McElhenney (46). .

“A match made in heaven”

The Sun quotes an unnamed source: “It’s still very early days but Robbie has been formally approached to see if he’s interested in making an offer.” The alleged insider adds: “Port Vale remains one of his greatest loves and it has always been a dream to get more involved. He has had a few meetings and his supporters are incredibly excited.” The insider also explained that Port Vale’s star power could make them a big club. “Port Vale fans love Robbie and on paper it’s a match made in heaven.”

Apparently they are hoping for a similar economic and sporting effect in Stoke-on-Trent as in Wrexham. After Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the club in 2020, the club’s value is said to have increased by 300 percent. The documentary series “Welcome To Wrexham”, which documents the takeover and the subsequent promotion fight, can be seen on the Disney+ streaming service.
