10,000 employees, a megastar and the Chancellor: Robbie Williams sang at the RWE anniversary party and Olaf Scholz gave the welcome.

Many company celebrations are particularly impressive because of their boredom – this is not the case at the energy supply company RWE. Around 10,000 employees were invited to a big party to mark the company’s 125th anniversary yesterday Saturday evening at Messe Essen. What was special about it were the very special guests: On the one hand, none other than the world star was heating up Robbie Williams (49) and Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65), of all people, stopped by for a quick visit.

According to a report in “Bild”newspaper, Williams was on stage for around an hour. A spectator about the concert: “He did his usual jokes with the audience, picked out one or two audience members and talked to them, threw shirts into the audience, so it was all like at a big concert.” Williams’ private concert was supposed to be a surprise, but they couldn’t keep this highlight secret, they say.

Olaf Scholz gave the opening speech

The actually even bigger star guest was Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65, SPD), who gave the opening speech at the RWE party. Afterwards, the head of government was even available to take selfies with some guests.
