Robert De Niro’s six older children have “not yet” met his newborn baby. The star revealed that in New York.
Hollywood legend Robert De Niro (79) became the father of little girl Gia Virginia in April. However, the six other children of the 79-year-old have not yet met the baby. The two-time Oscar winner revealed this on the sidelines of the Tribeca Film Festival in an interview with “People”.. Literally, when asked if his older children had already met Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, as the child’s full name is, De Niro replied: “Not yet, but they will.”
Seven children by four women
Gia Virginia is De Niro’s seventh child. She has a sister who is 51 years older than her. The star, known for the cult films “The Godfather 2” (1974) and “Taxi Driver” (1976), shares the children Drena (51) and Raphael (46) with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott (78). He has twins Aaron and Julian (27) with his former girlfriend Toukie Smith (70). Ex-wife number two, Grace Hightower (68), has son Elliott (25) and daughter Helen (11).
Gia Virginia’s mother is Tiffany Chen, who, according to the Daily Mail, is 45 years old.
De Niro appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival, which he co-founded, for a screening of his own directorial work, The Streets of the Bronx (1993). Actor Chazz Palminteri (71), who played one of the leading roles in the gangster film, was also present at the film screening and was able to meet De Niro’s youngest child. “I saw the baby. A beautiful child,” Palminteri told People.
