Robert Downey Jr .: He finished with "Iron Man"

Will fan favorite "Iron Man" appear again after all? Robert Downey Jr. has now commented on the rumors.

There are always rumors that Robert Downey Jr. (55) has ruled out a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The "Iron Man" star reacted to speculation by fans that Tony Stark could appear in the upcoming "Black Widow" movie with Scarlett Johansson (35).

On the "SmartLess" podcast, hosted by actors Jason Bateman, 51, Will Arnett, 50 and Sean Hayes, 50, Robert Downey Jr. was asked if he was done with the "Marvel thing". The Hollywood star's answer: "That's completely done." He is fine with ending that.

"Black Widow" will play as a prequel to the events of "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Endgame". The plot is apparently set after "The First Avenger: Civil War". The film is due to hit theaters at the end of October. Will there at least be flashbacks with "Iron Man"?

"A New Journey"

Robert Downey Jr. starred in "Iron Man" in 2008. This was followed by two sequels and appearances in the "Avengers" strips. "Iron Man" was last seen in "Avengers: Endgame". The actor continued on the podcast, "I also think Marvel is on this journey now. They're trying a lot of other things and I'm excited for them to see how it all goes."
