Robert Koch Institute: Tyrol is now officially a risk area

Now also the popular tourist destination Tyrol: The Robert Koch Institute now officially lists the Austrian state as a risk area.

The federal government has had to expand its list for risk areas again. Due to the rapidly increasing number of infections, the Austrian state of Tyrol, which is extremely popular with holidaymakers, is now officially listed. Also new on the list of the Robert Koch Institute: all of the Czech Republic and Luxembourg. An official travel warning issued by the Federal Foreign Office for the designated areas seems to be a formality and is expected for Friday evening.

This means that 15 EU countries are now wholly or partially named as risk areas. Some of the other neighboring German countries Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland are also listed as such risk areas. The only so far unaffected country with a border with Germany is currently Poland.

Travelers who return from risk areas must undergo a compulsory corona test and quarantine until the test result. However, official travel warnings are not a ban on traveling to these regions. However, bookings can be canceled free of charge if there are warnings.
