Robert Pattinson as a serial killer facing Iron Man for the director of Don’t Look Up
Batman versus Iron Man! Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr, Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler will star in Don’t Look Up director Adam Mckay’s next film.
Winner of the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2016 for The Big Short, director and screenwriter Adam McKay has just announced his future film, three years after Don’t Look Up.
Entitled Average Height, Average Build, the feature film will once again be carried by a 5-star cast made up of Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler, the revelation of Emmett Till. Other actors should soon be announced in the casting according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film follows a serial killer (Robert Pattinson) who enters politics and who, with the help of a lobbyist (Amy Adams), will try to change the laws that will allow him to get away with it more easily.
Robert Downey Jr. plays a retired police officer who continues the investigation despite everything and who will try to put a spoke in the wheels of the killer. The roles of Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler are still unknown.
A film about corruption in politics
In the vein of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, the feature film will be, like the director’s previous works, a sharp criticism of society and more specifically of the corruption that is rampant in the political world.
Adam McKay already mentioned the idea of making a film about dirty money when promoting Don’t Look up, which highlighted global warming and the skepticism that whistleblowers regularly face.
Average Height, Average Build will mark the filmmaker’s reunion with Amy Adams, whom he previously directed in the political satire Vice in 2018. It’s his first time collaborating with Robert Pattinson, Robert Downey Jr., Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler.
Filming should begin at the end of the summer in Boston.
