There is a debate in Hollywood about artificial intelligence. Now Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda has joined the debate.

Zelda Williams (34), the daughter of the late Hollywood star Robin Williams (1951-2014), finds AI replicas of her father “disturbing”. The use of artificial intelligence is currently being hotly debated in Hollywood, including the replication of a person or their voice without their consent. This was and is also part of the negotiations when the actors and screenwriters went on strike.

She is not “impartial” here, According to US media reports, Williams wrote in an Instagram story. “I’ve seen for years how many people want to train these models to create/recreate actors who can’t consent, like Dad. This isn’t theoretical, it’s very, very real.”

Robin Williams, an Oscar-winning actor and comedian, died in 2014. “I’ve heard before about AI making its ‘voice’ say what people want, and while I personally find it disturbing, the implications are far reaching beyond my own feelings,” Zelda Williams continued. “Living actors deserve the chance to create characters through their choices, to lend their voices to animated films, and to invest their human energy and time in the pursuit of performance.”

Tom Hanks also warns

Tom Hanks (67) also just warned on Instagram in front of an AI commercial clip. A video of the Oscar winner is currently circulating in which he promotes dental care. However, this is not supposed to be his person, but rather an artificially created image of him.

On a screenshot of Hanks in the promotional clip, which appears to have been created without his knowledge, he writes: “Be careful!! There’s a video out there promoting dental treatment with an Al version of me.” However, the Hollywood star makes it clear with clear words: “I have nothing to do with it.”
