Roblox: an arrival for the end of the year on the Meta Quest?

Despite his 50 million daily players, Roblox is often mistakenly considered a game for young children due to its rather simplistic graphics. In reality, it is much more than that. Created nearly 20 years ago, the MMOs (massively multiplayer online game) has greatly evolved to give birth to a platform where you can play, build and share your creations on the one hand, and a metaverse constantly evolvingbecause left to the imagination of its users on the other hand.

We announced it to you last summer, although available on the vast majority of current platforms, as well as on PC VR, the title would be about to land on Meta Quest during the second half of 2023 according to this note from The Verge. However, we can read that nothing is set in stone and that “plans are subject to change”. We also learn that the development of this version would not be so easy as that : virtual reality has its constraints that mobile devices or consoles do not have. While we shouldn’t see too big of a concession in terms of graphics, it’s mostly the gameplay and the abilities cross play of the game that we would like to keep. Thereby, it is highly likely that Roblox will only release on the Meta Quest 2, Meta having signed the phasing out of Quest 1 support.

Anyway, the interest of metaverse Roblox for the VR autonomous does not date from yesterday. Just remember that already in 2021, the CEO and co-founder of Roblox Dave Baszucki considered his game free-to-play as “perfectly adapted” to the platform Meta Quest.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Meta Quest 2 to the Fnac, Darty Where Amazon from €449.99.
