Roblox, a platform bringing together thousands of original games or simple copies of other existing ones, has seen its popularity grow in recent years, a development boosted by the IPO of Roblox Corporation. And while some games that have peaked in popularity in recent years are declining, like Fortnite, Roblox does not (yet) experience the same trajectory, and its longevity, one of the longest in the video game industry, must be jealous.
In effect, in 2022 Roblox saw 23% more players try the experience, for an average total of 56 million daily users worldwide, more or less the number of inhabitants in Italy. Throughout the year, these players spent more than 49.3 billion hours in game, according to information provided on the official website.
Another flattering stat shared concerns the age of users. In getting older, players don’t necessarily leave out Robloxheading to other games, given that more than half of users are over the age of thirteen. Often categorized as childish, the platform is opening up to an older audience, in particular thanks to various major partnerships in recent months, to the delight of developers.
David Baszucki, Founder and CEO of Roblox, does not forget to thank the employees and the community, for bringing the platform to life, and promises an exciting new year, in particular thanks to the various improvements made in 2022, whether at the level of the safety of the youngest or tools made available to creators.
