How the pricing table works

When looking for a robot vacuum with docking station, Roborock and Ecovacs have some capable models at the top of their ranges. In order to determine which, of the S7 MaxV Ultra from Roborock or the Deebot X1 Omni from Ecovacs, deserves your attention, we opposed during a duel these two robot vacuum cleaners having won the 5 stars during their passage through our labs.

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra: a full-featured robot vacuum cleaner

If the two belligerents advance the promise of an almost entirely automated cleaning, Roborock and Ecovacs however opt for two distinct implementations. The first glaring difference is in the cleaning system. For its part, the S7 MaxV Ultra opts for a vibrating mop that can be raised to vacuum carpets without cleaning them. For its part, the Deebot X1 Omni opts for a no less effective rotating pad system, but which requires avoiding carpets.

From a practical point of view, the advantage remains with Roborock, with in particular a simpler trap door than the magnetic system requiring the use of both hands. Same observation on the side of the water tank, simply inaccessible at Ecovacs.

At the station level, manufacturers of robot vacuum cleaners opt for two philosophies. On the one hand, Ecovacs offers a bulky station, allowing the integration of larger tanks, which limits the intervention of the user. On the other side, Roborock offers a significantly more compact station, with smaller collectors, but whose filters clog less quickly.

On the navigation side, our opponents of the day offer similar equipment. If their performance is very close, the Roborock S7 MaxV does well thanks to its integrated lamp which allows finer navigation in the dark.

In terms of suction performance, the two devices are very close, with however a slight advantage to the Deebot X1 Omni, which is more homogeneous on all surfaces. If the Roborock does not fail, especially on hard ground and fine carpet, it remains behind on thick carpet.

Finally, although noisier than the X1 Omni, the robot vacuum cleaner wins points on the autonomy side, offering a much shorter charging time and a much greater autonomy in boost mode.

Both crowned with 5 stars in our comparison, the Roborock S7 MaxV narrowly won its duel against the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni thanks to its practical details such as its integrated lamp, the retractable mop, the ease of maintenance and its more complete design. Nevertheless, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni does not deserve thanks to its suction performance on carpets and its silent operation.
