The Roborock S8 was recently introduced at CES in Las Vegas, along with the S8 Plus and S8 Pro Ultra. The device went on sale on March 16, with selected retailers offering a discount of 150 euros at the market launch.
While the launch phase at all other retailers ended on March 21st and the device is also sold out there, Geekmaxi is the last retailer who sells you the vacuum and floor mopping robot at the launch price. Some things have been improved with the new vacuum robot. The suction power has increased to 6,000 Pascal – more than the competition has to offer for over 1,000 euros. In addition, the device uses a double main brush (DuoRoller), which is less prone to tangling hair.
The device has a high-speed vibrating mop that can be offered five millimeters. This allows the vacuum robot to vacuum and wipe in one go. With other models, on the other hand, two passes have to be made, at least if carpets are available.
Efficient cleaning and navigation results from the interaction of LiDAR (laser navigation) and 3D obstacle detection that works with structured 3D light and infrared imaging technology.
If you use the Roborock S8, you do without a vacuum robot with a suction station. However, the device is much cheaper than top models with a cleaning station. For the current price of around 550 euros, you will hardly find a better device on the market. You can buy it at a special price from Amazon, Otto and Geekmaxi, among others.
Important for those interested: From March 22, 2023, the vacuum robot will be available at the full price of 699 euros.
