Roccat’s catalog of keyboards for video game enthusiasts is constantly expanding with a range capable of satisfying all needs, but also all budgets. Here are two new models that are very different from each other, a compact wireless, the Vulcan II Mini Air, and a full-size wired model built for competition, the Vulcan II.

A 65% wireless keyboard

The Vulcan II Mini Air is based on the Vulcan II Mini that we tested by cutting its cord in favor of a wireless connection. The user will therefore use the in-house 2.4 GHz radio protocol which passes either through the Stellar Wireless dongle or through three Bluetooth channels. The first requires the connection of an adapter and therefore uses a socket, but is more efficient in terms of responsiveness in particular. As for Bluetooth, its universality can simplify the player’s life. The Mini Air relies on Titan II Red/Linear optical switches touted as optimal for gamers looking for speed and precision. In addition, these switches are compatible with keycaps from third-party manufacturers and are pre-lubricated during manufacture to provide maximum fluidity. Roccat announces a lifespan of 150 million keystrokes. The Vulcan II Mini Air takes up the 65% format of its predecessor. It therefore has arrow keys unlike the 60% keyboard. It incorporates proximity sensors that detect the presence or absence of the user to cut the RGB backlighting of the keys and its transparent casing in order to optimize its autonomy. The German brand announces a maximum autonomy of 240 hours. The built-in battery charges via the included 1.8m USB-C cable. This high-tech product is sold at a price of €179.99.

Strong for the pros!

The Vulcan II is part of the prestigious Vulcan 120 series that has been delighting hardcore gamers for years now. This full-size keyboard ushers in the new Titan II red linear mechanical switches. These components are designed for competition with increased fluidity thanks to their factory pre-lubrication. They offer quiet operation with an actuation force of 45g and a stroke of 1.4mm for a lifespan of 80 million keystrokes, significantly more than traditional mechanical keys. The use of third-party keycaps with crossed axes is possible. The keys take place on a brushed aluminum top plate, of course with AIMO RGB backlight technology. The Vulcan II connects via USB-A with its 1.8 m braided cable. Its launch price is €159.99.
