Roche: takeover of the American company Good Therapeutics

(CercleFinance.com) – Roche announced on Wednesday that it would buy Good Therapeutics, an American biotechnology company, for 250 million dollars in cash.

This acquisition will allow the Swiss healthcare giant to obtain Good Therapeutics’ main program, an agonist of the interleukin-2 receptor linked to programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1), an approach that he currently favors his work in immuno-oncology.

The operation, which should be completed by the end of the month, could be accompanied by additional payments, depending on the achievement of certain predefined milestones.

Founded in 2016 in Seattle, Good Therapeutics already counted Roche among its main shareholders through the laboratory’s development capital subsidiary, Roche Venture Fund.
