Rock am Ring: This happens with the Festival 2020

According to the current status, the festivals "Rock am Ring" and "Rock im Park" 2020 will take place regardless of the Corona crisis. As the organizers write on their website, preparations are already in full swing. Several tens of thousands of fans are expected to attend the 35th edition of the "Rock am Ring" festival in the Eifel and the 25th edition of the "Rock im Park" twin festival in Nuremberg from June 5th to 7th. Bands like Korn, System of a Down, Green Day or The Offspring should be on the stages.

One observes the developments (of the pandemic) very closely, it says in the text on the website. The health of festival goers, artists and employees would have top priority: "If anything changes in the current situation, the health authorities decide on possible adjustments and we will inform you immediately." Both festivals are almost sold out. According to "Nordbayern.de", a spokesman for the ticket exchange "Eventim" said: "We will wait until after Easter and assume that we will then receive information on how the next few weeks and months will go on."

There is little understanding on social media for the organizers' adherence to their plans. For example, a user writes on Twitter: "Even if there is no general ban on contact in June, a major event like Rock am Ring (80,000 people) will still be irresponsible. (…)". A user named "21tribes" says angrily: "We all stay at home, the economy is falling apart & the pseudo-rebels who swing the french fries fork at the weekend & work in the bank on Mondays go to a corona party & spread the virus back into the country. That is probably this Solidarity."
