There is movement on the Epic Games Store! Indeed, the American firm is already beginning to withdraw certain games from its store. Others will also see their online multiplayer modes disappear altogether.
Unfortunately, several large licenses are on the list communicated by Epic Games this week.
The party is over!
The new year is approaching and Epic has chosen to clean up its virtual shelves. Not long ago, the publisher behind Fortnite communicated a list of games which will soon be amputated of some of their online functions. This mainly concerns the “old titles” of well-known sagas like rockband and Unreal Tournament.
A decision that is part of a larger initiative to only maintain the connected features for these old games through Epic Online Services. To put it simply, only things like the unified friends list, voice chats, and parental controls will be maintained. Most of the titles impacted will remain playable in single player or in local multiplayer mode.
Icons that will (almost) disappear
On January 24, 2023, the servers of various games will be cut, because judged “obsolete” by Epic. In-game purchases have also been blocked and games delisted from the store. And as much to say that there are beautiful people among the 17 opuses targeted.

However, a few exceptions should be noted. As for the good news, Epic Games presumably wants to restore online functionality toUnreal Tournament 3 at a later date. Also, the servers of Dance Central VR and rock band 4 are maintained.
On the other hand, the tactical RPG Battle Breakers released in 2019 will close on December 30. Finally, starting today, the mobile game DropMix as well as the Mac and Linux versions of Hatoful Boyfriend and Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star are withdrawn from sale.
