The start of the twin festivals Rock im Park/Rock am Ring on Friday could have gone better in terms of technology.

The twin festivals Rock im Park and Rock am Ring celebrated their opening on Friday (June 2nd). The first day, however, did not seem to go smoothly. As several media report unanimouslythere were always technical glitches on stage at some performances.

Several artists were affected by this, above all the hip-hop duo Mehnersmoos. When the rappers from Frankfurt entered the stage, the microphones didn’t work. Fans initially responded with a song, but according to reports, the mood quickly turned into loud booing.

The technology of rapper Juju (30) also stopped shortly before the end of her performance. For minutes her voice could not be heard over the microphones, so she ran off the stage to ask backstage about the cause…

Technical issues at Limp Bizkit

Last but not least, nu metal cult band Limp Bizkit hit the Utopia Stage, the festival’s main stage. Frontman Fred Durst (52) already had problems with his microphone during one of the first songs. He kept asking his fans if they could hear him. In the meantime, the organizer is said to have played a message on the video screen that there were technical problems.

Limp Bizkit fans apparently had to wait longer for the Florida band to perform their hits. After all: The musicians around Fred Durst are said to have given everything on stage afterwards, so that the breakdown show could quickly have been forgotten by the festival visitors.
