Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, George Michael and more became the youngest members of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” in New York on Friday.

The famous “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” now has a few more members. On Friday evening, the induction of new musicians into the Hall of Fame was celebrated at a gala concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Sheryl Crow: “Now I’ve got back what I gave”

The new additions include folk-rock singer Sheryl Crow (61), US rapper Missy Elliott (52) and Briton George Michael (1963-2016), who died in 2016. The band Rage Against the Machine, the R&B band The Spinners, the country legend Willie Nelson (90) and the British singer-songwriter Kate Bush (65) were also honored. The latter was unable to attend the event, but thanked her via their website for “the true honor”.

Musical entertainment was provided by Sheryl Crow and Olivia Rodrigo (20), who performed Crow’s hit “If It Makes You Happy” on stage. “I put all my energy into expressing my experiences through music and words, and now I’ve gotten back what I gave,” Crow said.

Eminem and Dolly Parton recorded in 2022

The new members of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” were announced in May. A jury made up of several thousand musicians, historians and industry representatives will decide who will receive one of the coveted places. Almost all genres of music are now represented in the hall of fame. Last year, Dolly Parton (77) and Eminem (51), among others, were inducted into the “Hall of Fame”.
