Rocket League: Voice chat returns

After many months, Psyonix has announced the return of a flagship feature, which may prove to be very useful: voice chat. With the update scheduled for May 10, players will once again be able to exchange verbally with their partner, directly in game. It will no longer be necessary to go through another application, such as Discord, for example. To learn all about how it works, the developers have explained the details of this feature.

Return of voice chat on Rocket League

From now on, voice chat will be enabled by default on Rocket League. Just plug in your headset to hear and talk to your teammates. However, several parameters can be adjusted, to avoid a certain crowd, or to stay only with friends. Here are the different modes:

  • Group voice chat → Allows you to speak only with your group. Possible to communicate during the matches, but also in the menus.
  • Team voice chat → Allows you to speak with all teammates, throughout the game. The connection will be terminated once it is terminated.

Furthermore, it will be possible to choose between push-to-talk or auto-detection mode. If you opt for push-to-talk, so that other members of the group or team only hear you when you want to, you will need to configure a key. Finally, be aware that it is possible to mute any player, by blocking him. You can also choose not to use voice chat.

The whole thing arrives this May 10, through an update. Obviously, Psyonix asks its community to show respect with other Rocket League users.
