Last year, Rockstar had the good idea to update old parts of its franchise GTA with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Editionincluding remastered versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA San Andreas. Unfortunately, the quality was far from gooda bunch of patches tried to improve the experience, but at the house of Rockstarit threw a chill.
The studio is not used to such backlash and, according to some information obtained by Kotaku, Rockstar would now be fully focused on the development of GTA VIburying other projects of remasters. Originally, theInsider Tez had published a tweet claiming that the studio was working on remastered versions of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV, but following the critical failure of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Rockstar would have canceled everything. Kotaku more or less confirms the information, explaining that, according to its sources, the studio would like to forget the failure of the trilogy and focus on GTA VIbut these remasters would not be totally trashed. Rockstar could therefore release them one day, but it is clearly no longer a priority.
As a reminder, Grand Theft Auto VI was formalized at the beginning of the year, and its development is already well advanced. In the meantime, you can find GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition at €44.99 per Fnac.
