Rocksteady: The co-founders of the studio behind Batman Arkham and Suicide Squad are leaving

While eyes are on Gotham Knights and Warner Bros Games Montreal, the studio Rocksteady prepares him to find the DC universe. Became famous following his trilogy of batman arkhamthe studio challenged itself to produce Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which has something to raise some fears in view of its cooperation orientation, especially after the release of the game on the Bat-Family. And it is not the latest news that we have just learned that risks reassuring those who are waiting for the next Rocksteady productions.

A new era at Rocksteady, what to worry about?

In a letter written by David Haddad, current president of Warner Bros Games, we learn that Sefton Hill and Jamie Walker, the co-founders of Rocksteady, will leave the studio at the end of 2022. They will be replaced by Nathan Burlow who will take over the studio, while Darius Sadeghian will take on the role of product director.

What should be noted in David Haddad’s letter is that game development Suicide Squad seems to be coming to an end :

As Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is almost complete, they both decided to leave Rocksteady at the end of 2022 and will start a new adventure in gaming.. »

No reason was given for their departure, but since the interested parties left a personal message in Haddad’s letter, this departure seems simply to be linked to the desire of Hill and Walker to embark on a new adventure, 18 years old after founding Rocksteady. The two colleagues also left a message of support for the duo who will replace them:

Nathan and Darius have proven their passion and skills at Rocksteady for many years. They are veterans of our industry and we know that their commitment to Rocksteady and their talent and energy will take the team to even greater heights. We couldn’t be happier to have them leading the future of the studio and wish them all the best. »

We are now awaiting news on their next direction, but also on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewhich is slated for release in 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
