ROG Ally TUTORIAL: Activate 30W turbo mode from any battery or charger, it’s now possible!

Basically, the ROG Ally console is designed to operate at 30w only via an official (or certified) charger or dock. It is also possible to activate this same turbo mode thanks to certain batteries capable of delivering 140w (ex: Anker 737). However, is it worth paying almost 150 euros to get 5 more watts on your console? Certainly not and not anymore thanks to the following trick, discovered on Reddit.

It’s certain this post Reddit that lazy_commander has found a flaw allowing you to take advantage of the 30w, here is the procedure to follow:

  • Insert the official charger on the ROG Ally ;
  • Press the shortcut menu (the button representing a triangle, on the left of the console);
  • Check that you are in 30w Turbo ;
  • Tap the power symbol and then tap hibernate ;
  • Once the screen is completely off (wait a few seconds), remove the cable from the official charger and replace it with the one from your power bank or dock ;
  • Turn your console back onenjoy the 30w as long as your console stays on.

Notes:

  • This is not a graphical bugyou can actually change performance profile (10w,15w,30w, 30w manual) at will.
  • The 30w turbo mode is not available without connection!
  • Also, however, we advise you to turn to external batteries and quality dock, the 30w mode consuming more. We invite you to read our dedicated article as well as to watch our live dedicated to Ibroz Gaming:ROG Ally: which external batteries so that the pleasure lasts much longer?
