With “Rogue Squadron”, a new adventure from the far, far away “Star Wars” galaxy has probably also moved far, far away from the cinema.

The “Star Wars” strip “Rogue Squadron” by “Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins (51) has not been good for a long time. Now the Disney film studio seems to have hammered another nail in the coffin into the project, which may even be the final one. As “Variety” reports, “Rogue Squadron” has since been removed from the release schedule. So far, a publication in December of the coming year had been specified.

However, even before the most recent reports, it was considered unlikely that this date would be kept. For a project of this magnitude, pre-production and probably filming would have had to start long ago. Actually, the strip should have come to the cinema in the winter of this year, but the corona pandemic and other obligations of the director got in the way.

Is it all over with “Rogue Squadron” now?

It is not known whether the removal from the release plan means the final end. However, it is not a good sign that no new date was entered at the same time. So “Rogue Squadron” seems to be on hold indefinitely at best.
