  • The rollout of the operating system version Roku OS 11.5 started this week.
  • With the update, users get a new feature for their home screen.
  • There are also new audio and voice functions.

The most obvious new feature that Roku OS 11.5 brings with it is probably the “Buzz”. When the update makes the rounds in the coming weeks and months, you will find a new button on the home screen – The Buzz. Basically, it’s a personalization tool that suggests content based on previous input.

The “Save List” is now also available outside of the app. It was also integrated directly into the home screen. Users of the app also get an extra “Guide” button. In this way, Live TV Channel should be found even faster. The relevant categories have also been revised in the background. Furthermore, the continue watching option should now also be compatible with Netflix content. Paramount+ and other streaming services are coming soon.

New audio and voice features

Roku OS 11.5 also expands support for the Bluetooth “private listening” option on the hardware side. Where previously only pairing with the remote control or the app was possible, you can now connect your headphones directly to the Roku Streambar. Unfortunately, the other two supported products (Roku Ultra and Streambar Pro) are not yet available in this country.

Last but not least, the search function via voice input has been refined. Users are now offered more options for the search query and these are displayed in an extra window.
