The rain is back in Paris this Monday, May 23. Like every year, players and spectators must resolve to deal with this element which brings its share of uncertainty.
Inclusive insurance
Spectators benefit from “inclusive insurance” included in their ticket which provides for the event of a match being canceled or interrupted due to rain.
“Tickets giving access to the Suzanne-Lenglen and Simonne-Matthieu courts as well as the Annex Courts benefit from a guarantee included in the price of their ticket. If the playing time of the day is less than 2 hours due to bad weather, the buyer will be reimbursed the purchase price of his ticket, ”we can read on the Roland-Garros website.
The Philippe-Chatrier court is not included in this insurance because it has a roof enabling it not to interrupt matches in the event of bad weather.
In addition, there is also the “Sporting Hazards -2h” insurance which provides for the full reimbursement of the ticket if a sporting hazard (abandonment/disqualification) results in a playing time of less than 2 hours for the session/day for which the ticket gives access.
