Roland Jeanneret – “Mister Swiss Solidarity” dies of corona infection

The well-known moderator and communications manager of “Swiss Solidarity” died at the age of 74.

The radio presenter and communications director of “Swiss Solidarity”, Roland Jeanneret, died on Friday at the age of 74 of a corona infection, as reported by SRF Online. His death coincides with the 75th anniversary of “Swiss Solidarity”. Jeanneret carried out numerous collections for the aid organization and was therefore often referred to as “Mister Swiss Solidarity”. As a close companion told 20 Minuten, Jeanneret had been vaccinated twice. He was unable to keep his booster appointment due to illness.

Roland Jeanneret started out as the presenter of the “Children’s News” on Swiss television. Later he presented the program “Rendez-vous” on the radio.

The journalist was awarded the 1999 international human rights prize, the Swiss Cancer League’s media prize and the Henri Dunant Medal for international humanitarian engagement for his commitment to the “Swiss Solidarity” aid organization, as SRF continues.
