Roland Kaiser: Successful concert comeback by Schlager-Star

The German pop singer Roland Kaiser has performed as part of the "Back to Live" concert series in Berlin. The audience was thrilled.

What will happen next in the Corona crisis with live concerts and major events? This question has been in the room for months – and no one has a good answer that is really satisfactory for everyone. After a long break, Roland Kaiser (68, "Santa Maria") returned to the stage on September 3rd.

Subject to appropriate safety requirements, it is currently permitted to host open-air events with up to 5,000 people in Berlin. Kaiser has now kicked off the "Back to Live" concert series in Berlin's Waldbühne. As part of the events, Sido (39), Helge Schneider (64), Wincent Weiss (27) and Peter Maffay (71) will also perform in the coming days and weeks.

Culture is "a basic human need"

The concert in front of relatively empty stands – the open-air stage offers space for 22,000 visitors under normal conditions – was a complete success, according to the "Berliner Morgenpost". Not only that the corresponding conditions were observed, there was also a mood like that of more than 20,000 spectators. The audience was enthusiastic.

"We're celebrating a return. In the last few months, a lot has been more important than culture," Kaiser said at the beginning, according to the daily newspaper. "But culture is not a luxury, it is a basic human need. Let's make this evening a special experience."

Other Kaiser fans can share this special experience again on September 4th today. The hit star appears again in Berlin.
