Rolls-Royce: modest profit in 2021

(CercleFinance.com) – Rolls-Royce publishes underlying revenue of £10.94 billion for the 2021 financial year, down around 4% compared to the previous financial year (11.43 £bn).

However, underlying operating profit came to £414m, a far cry from the £2bn loss recorded a year earlier.
The British manufacturer publishes an underlying net profit of £10m in 2021, after the loss of £4bn the previous year. Underlying EPS thus came out at 0.11p, against -67.48p a year earlier.

As the impact of the pandemic subsides, Rolls-Royce anticipates ‘positive momentum in its financial performance in 2022’ despite challenges and risks related to the pace of market recovery, supply chain disruption global supply and inflation.

“We expect low to mid single-digit revenue growth,” concludes the British firm.

After the announcement of these mixed results, the title lost more than 15% in London.
