After weeks of investigations by the criminal police in Villach, ten Romanian women were found in Draustadt who had engaged in illegal apartment prostitution.
In the past few weeks, the operative criminal service in SPK Villach has carried out several key campaigns against illegal residential prostitution in the urban area of Villach. “During the course of these controls, a total of ten illegal prostitutes from Romania who were offering their services in their apartments were entered in the act,” the police said. The prostitutes advertised their services through relevant advertisements on various Internet portals and also used “Fake Accounts”, in which interested parties should be able to access the services by paying in advance using online prepaid cards. “After the activation codes for the prepaid cards were sent, contact with the scammers was always lost. The perpetrators used Austrian phone numbers to deceive.”, according to an investigator.
