“Love Doesn’t Need a Vacation”
This RomCom style inspires us
That the 2000s are giving us some trends right now is nothing new. The romantic comedies we watch at Christmastime also provide plenty of fashion inspo. We’ll show you how you can still wear the looks from “Love doesn’t need a holiday” today.

“Love doesn’t need a holiday” may be more than 15 years old, but it is one of the absolute Christmas classics, providing great emotions and a festive mood as well as fashion inspiration! Amanda (played by Cameron Diaz) and Iris (played by Kate Winslet) decide to spend the Christmas season at each other’s houses on different continents. They quickly meet Graham (played by Jude Law) and Miles (played by Jack Black) and a stirring love story begins. We also fell in love with the main characters’ outfits while we were watching and we’re showing you our favourites!
Winter accessories
She comes from summery California and first has to get used to the winter temperatures in England. Amanda wears a thick beige coat with fur trimmings in the film. In addition, she combines a hat in Basque style, which is also cream-colored. The striped round scarf makes the 200s look perfect.
The elegant cozy look doesn’t just work in the movies! Cozy accessories are extremely popular at Christmas time! How about an off-white beret?
Tone-on-tone looks
Kate Winslet, who plays a columnist from England in the film, enchants with her playful but rather down-to-earth style. She combines a narrow scarf with the blazer – typical of the 2000s style.
Influencer and fashion designer Matilda Djerf is also combining narrow scarves with blazers this winter and shows how up-to-date the trend is. To freshen up the look of the 2000s, she wears an oversized jacket instead of a tight-fitting blazer. The scarf is available at Djerf Avenue, for example, for around 55 euros.
Cozy through the Christmas season
Nothing is more important during the Christmas season than a comfortable outfit for a cozy evening on the couch. Cameron Diaz shows how it’s done: elegant and yet relaxed? This works out!
For a “love doesn’t need a vacation” inspired home look, all you need is a pair of cozy satin or silk pajamas. As of this year, they are definitely also suitable for going out. Those who like it chic will find loungewear designed by Sylvie Meis at Aldi. Amanda would surely like the looks too!
Romantic lace
Not only is Iris and Miles’ love story romantic, but so is their style! This is how she shows herself in the sweet lace jacket, which she wears over a top in the matching color. The boho-inspired look doesn’t just work in summer! The outfit gets a romantic touch, especially when paired with filigree gold jewelry.
If you are looking for a nice cardigan, you will find it at Zara. Whether plain in beige or bold in coral.
