Ronan Keating is quitting his job. He announced this a week after a tattoo revelation that left fans worried about his wife.

Ronan Keating (47) is quitting his job as a radio presenter at “Margic FM”. The singer announced this live on air on Thursday. After seven years, he is leaving the ‘Magic Radio Breakfast Show’. His statement on the station and a farewell hug with his colleague were filmed and published on Instagram.

Speaking to co-host Harriet Scott, he said: “Even though I won’t be waking up the nation with you anymore, I’m looking forward to getting back to what I was doing before – you know, getting back to my music and touring. Even though I have, it hasn’t been easy at times to do the two together.”

He went on to say that he wanted to be with his “family again – you know, taking the kids to school and all those things that I missed. Waking up in the morning with my wife? I know it sounds ridiculous, but that’s really important and I missed it,” Keating said.

The 47-year-old Boyzone star has co-hosted the morning show alongside Harriet Scott since September 2017. His last show will be on July 31, but he said he will remain in the “Magic Radio” family.

On his Instagram page he reposted the message of the radio station “Magic FM”: “After seven fantastic years, Ronan has announced that he is hanging up the headphones at ‘Magic Breakfast’.”

Worries about his wife

The Irish musician’s retirement announcement comes just days after he delighted his fans with a cryptic Instagram post worried about his wife Storm Keating (42). He had revealed a new tattoo on the back of his arm in honor of his wife: a black and white drawing of a warrior with a sword. In the caption, Keating revealed that the tattoo was for Storm, he praised her “strength” and explained that he would be by her side.

He wrote: “For you, my warrior, today and every day. My Stormy. A challenge lies ahead, but your strength overwhelms me. I am with you every step of the way. I love you baby.”

His followers were quick to praise the singer, but many flooded the comments section with messages sharing their concern for Storm and offering their well wishes. One read: ‘Hope Storm is doing well, love the tattoo. Sending lots of love and positive prayers. I hope Storm is doing well?’

Ronan Keating has been married to the 42-year-old TV producer since 2015 after they met on “The X Factor Australia” in 2010. The couple have seven-year-old son Cooper Archer and four-year-old daughter Coco Knox. Keating also has children Jack (25), Missy (23) and Ali (18) with his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly.
