It is a logical decision that Renault converts the Espace into an SUV. SUV sells, van vanishes, or something like that. It stands there powerfully, with its upright radiator grille, the curved bonnet, the elongated roof line that slopes gently towards the rear and the striking roof spoiler. SUV is just the shape, and Renault also emphasizes the ground clearance of 18 centimeters, the wide wheel arches and the 19 or 20 inch wheels. And of course the obligatory plastic strip all around, which they somewhat exaggeratedly call impact protection.
