In an Instagram story captured by Entertainment Weekly, the former Paige actress wrote, among other things: "Dear Sarah Jeffery, I honestly had no idea who you were before you tweeted. I was too busy with fighting monsters and campaigning for a new cultural start instead of noticing who is involved in the reboot. " McGowan alludes to her role in the fight for the #MeToo movement, in which she was one of the driving forces behind the case of film producer Harvey Weinstein (68).

She also vehemently denies that the skin color of the new cast has something to do with her displeasure. The fact that she commented negatively on the "Charmed" new edition is more due to the producers of the new show.
