Roseanne Barr is returning to the stage with her first stand-up show in 20 years. A trailer gives a first glimpse.

Roseanne Barr (70) comes back into the spotlight. The streaming service Fox Nation has announced a comedy special by the actress, which appears to be about her own experiences with cancel culture. “Cancel This!” is the title of the special to be released on February 13th.

In a first teaser Barr can be seen standing on stage against the light, crushing a rose and asking, “Has anyone gotten fired lately?”, at which point her diabolical laughter is heard. The advertising is likely to have cost Fox a lot: The 15-second clip ran during the broadcast of the NFC Championship Game on Sunday.

First stand-up special in 20 years

As “Deadline” reports, it’s the actress’ first stand-up special in nearly 20 years. The hour-long show is said to have been filmed in front of an audience at the Cullen Theater in Houston, Texas. The topic is about Barr’s life – from growing up as a Jew in Lake City, to moving to Texas and raising her own children.

As the title suggests, it will probably also be about their own experiences with the so-called “cancel culture”. Barr posted a racist tweet in 2018 in which she insulted Valerie Jarrett (66), who was once an adviser to then-US President Barack Obama (61), as a baby of the “Muslim Brotherhood and Planet of the Apes”. Although Barr deleted the tweet and apologized, ABC then canceled the reboot of her show. This continued as a spin-off “The Conners” – after mother Roseanne died an unexpected death.
