Roselyne Bachelot, 74, will have been missed by her peers. In March 2021, the state of health of the much decried Minister of Culture had raised concerns. On March 24, 2021, Roselyne Bachelot was hospitalized and then placed under enhanced oxygen therapy after being diagnosed positive for Covid-19 on March 17, 2021. “I am supported by exceptional caregivers and now benefit from enhanced oxygen therapy”, she wrote on Twitter about her hospitalization, Thursday, March 25, 2021.

Roselyne Bachelot was finally released from the hospital. She is back at her home, in order to continue her convalescence, since April 1, 2021. She finally took to social networks on Thursday April 8, 2021 to reassure her subscribers on Twitter : “Glad to see you again! I regain my strength every day. My thoughts of solidarity accompany all those who suffer, as well as their loved ones. I express my deep gratitude to the nursing staff, who everywhere in France, are doing a remarkable job”, she wrote.

“I was deeply touched”

Monday April 12, 2021, Roselyne Bachelot, according to BFMTV, had returned to the Ministry of Culture. Then, on Wednesday April 14, 2021, the Minister returned to the Senate Chamber. The Minister of Health was then applauded by her peers, as shown in images broadcast on BFMTV. At first, Senator Julien Bargeton, at the microphone, had a little word for his colleague: “The pleasure and the honor that we have to find you. Really, thank you, it is heartwarming”, he said. A warm welcome that did not fail to touch the politician: “Allow me to thank you for your many testimonies of support which came to me from all the benches of this assembly. Believe that I was deeply touched by it”. In the coming days, Roselyne Bachelot should work on the schedule for the reopening of places of culture scheduled for mid-May as announced by Emmanuel Macron in his speech of March 31, 2021.
