Yann Sommer and Bayern Munich win the Swiss duel with Silvan Widmer and Edimilson Fernandes in the round of 16 4-0.
In the DFB Cup against Mainz, Yann Sommer celebrated his first victory in FC Bayern Munich jersey. The Swiss goalkeeper didn’t have to work particularly hard to achieve success. The people in front gave him a calm and unexcited working day in the 4-0 win.
From the first minute, the action took place in the Mainz half of the game. The game was decided before the break whistle. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting opened the score in the 19th minute. Jamal Musiala (30th minute) and Leroy Sané (43rd) gave the overwhelmed Mainzers two more goals.

In the 76th minute, Kasper Dolberg brought TSG, trained by ex-FCZ coach André Breitenreiter, back to 1:2. Just 8 pointer turns later, Timo Werner restored the two-goal lead and made the decision. Emil Forsberg and Konrad Laimer scored for Leipzig in the first half.
