  • Andy Murray has to bow out in Basel in the round of 16. He is defeated by Roberto Bautista Agut 3: 6, 2: 6.
  • Félix Auger-Aliassime only gives up one game against Miomir Kecmanovic.

Murray stopped abruptly

In the 2nd round of the Swiss Indoors it’s over for Andy Murray (ATP 49). The Scot clearly lost out to Roberto Bautista Agut (ATP 22) 3: 6, 2: 6. In the duel with the Spaniard, Murray had to be accused of making too many unforced errors. Despite a 2-1 break lead, Murray didn’t agree early on, so Bautista Agut only had to concede five games to him. Bautista Agut gets it in the next round to do with Stan Wawrinka (ATP 194). The head-to-head between these two players is 1-1.

Auger-Aliassime makes short work of it

Félix Auger-Aliassime also made it through to the last eight in a convincing manner. After the narrow three-set win in the first round against Marc-Andrea Hüsler, the Canadian only lost one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win against Miomir Kecmanovic. The game lasted less than 50 minutes. Kecmanovic (ATP 28) made it 1-1 in the first set, but didn’t win a single game after that. After the match, Auger-Aliassime spoke of “one of the best games of his entire career”. In the quarterfinals, Auger-Aliassime (ATP 9) meets Alexander Bublik (ATP 38) from Kazakhstan.
