Round-up National League – Ambri with bittersweet victory – top duo leaves feathers – Sport

  • Despite a 3-2 win against Bern, Ambri will probably have to bury his playoff ambitions.
  • The two top clubs Freiburg (2: 5 in Lugano) and Zug (0: 4 in Geneva) receive surprisingly clear defeats.
  • After the 1:3 defeat in Rapperswil, Biel has to tremble for the direct playoff qualification.

Ambri – Bern 3: 2 nP

Although Ambri won in the game of the last chance, the success after penalties is probably not enough in the fight for a place in the pre-playoffs. The Leventine are 9 points behind the Bernese, who are in 10th place. With Dario Bürgler, Inti Pestoni and Dominic Zwerger, 3 Ambri players were successful in the shootout. In regular time, ex-Berner André Heim (25′) and Daniele Grassi in a power play (37′) gave Ambri the lead twice. Dustin Jeffrey was worried about the interim equalizer to make it 1-1 (36′), Philip Varone even scored with a shorthander to make it 2-2 (42′).

Lugano – Friborg 5: 2

Ironically, Yannick Herren, who had played for the opponent until the beginning of November, opened the scoring for the Ticino (14th). Romain Loeffel doubled just 69 seconds later. After Daniel Carr’s 3-0 lead shortly after the first period break, Freiburg coach Christian Dubé changed the goalkeeper: Loic Galley came on for Connor Hughes. However, there was no reaction from the leader, who has now lost 3 of the last 4 games. On the contrary: Carr doubled after 35 minutes. Freiburg woke up too late: Killian Mottet (43rd) and Matthias Rossi (54th) shortened in the last third, but the guests couldn’t do more.

Geneva-Servette – train 4:0

On Friday, Servette made a fool of himself with a 3:4 aet at tail light Ajoie. Accordingly, a reaction from Calvinstadt was required – and this should be violent. Geneva swept second-placed Zug out of the stadium 4-0. EVZ made life difficult for itself with major mistakes such as Jan Kovar’s in the 29th minute. Tanner Richard said thank you and made it 3-0. The Central Swiss could have replaced Freiburg at the top of the table with a point gain, but failed to benefit from the “dragon” slip. Servette, on the other hand, is still in close contact with the direct playoff places.

Davos – Ajoie 3: 0

Thanks to the home win against tail light Ajoie, Davos was able to maintain sixth place for the time being. The Grisons were superior in all respects (34:21 shots on target), but were not very efficient in converting chances. So the verdict was not too high. The home team scored a goal in every period. Sven Jung scored in the 11th minute, Enzo Corvi scored with the majority (32nd) and Mathias Bromé eliminated any doubt that the game would end victoriously with the 3-0 in the 44th minute.

Lakers – Biel 3: 1

After the 3rd defeat in a row, Biel could suddenly start to tremble with regard to the direct playoff qualification. The Seelanders lost 3-1 in Rapperswil and are only one point ahead of sixth-placed Davos, who in turn feel the hot breath of Lausanne and Geneva breathing down their necks. A 2 + 2 minute penalty against Damien Brunner had initiated the defeat of the guests (9th). In the following two power plays, Jeremy Wick and Roman Cervenka scored. It was the Czech league top scorer who made the decision with an Empy Netter.

SCL Tigers 1-4 ZSC Lions

Sven Andrighetto was the match winner in this game. The man from Zurich shone with a hat trick in the mandatory win in Langnau and let the ZSC celebrate 2 wins in a row for the first time since the Olympic break. In the game against the penultimate team, however, there was a long lack of highlights: after Andrighetto’s 1-0 lead (13′), the game only picked up speed in the final third. Larri Leeger was initially able to equalize for the SCL Tigers, who played well, with a direct shot (48′). But just a minute later it was Andrighetto again who put the ZSC Lions back in front after a rebound. In the closing stages, the striker completed his hat trick and Marco Pedretti also scored with an empty netter.
