Old master Murray continues after a hard fight

It took 35-year-old Andy Murray 2 hours and 40 minutes to beat Russian qualifier Roman Safiullin 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 6-4. In the meantime, the Brit had his back to the wall. In the 3rd set he was 2:4 and a break behind – but then won 4 games in a row and still secured his place in the 2nd round. There the world number 49 meets Roberto Bautista Agut.

Double success for young Swiss

It was youth against experience in doubles between the Swiss duo Jérôme Kym/Leandro Riedi and Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos. Ultimately, the youth – Kym is 19, Riedi 20 years old – prevailed against Granollers (36) and Zeballos (37). The Swiss lost the starting set 5:7, equalized 6:3 in the second round and finally won with a 11:9 in the match tiebreak.

Bautista Agut without any problems

The number 6 seeded Roberto Bautista Agut confidently made it through to the round of 16. Against the Serbian qualifier Laslo Djere he won 6:4, 6:1. It took the Spaniard just an hour and a minute to win. In the round of 16 he meets Andy Murray.
