At that time, the media had already made several headlines about the alleged quarrel between Harry and William. The group wanted to prevent the group situation – and the associated speculation in the press – this year. So: everyone straight to their seats!
By the way: The "Daily Mail" reports that only Meghan and Harry were excluded from the procession first. To avoid trouble, Kate and William would have followed suit.
