Royal news about Duchess Meghan: Camilla is "pissed" at her

Duchess Meghan, 38, is on a flying visit to London and visited her role as patron last Thursday (March 6) at the National Theater. The press was not invited. It is all the better for fans that a few hours later photos of the visit appeared on the Internet. But not everyone shared this joy.

Duchess Meghan upset Duchess Camilla

Duchess Camilla, 72, is "pissed off" at Meghan, according to "Mail Online". The reason: On the same day that Meghan visited the theater, Camilla made an important speech at the "Women of the World Festival" about one of her heart matters, the fight against domestic violence. According to media reports, she is said to have prepared for the appearance over months.

Out of respect for Camilla, the palace is said to have emailed the court reporters of the major London newspapers to focus on Camilla – not Meghan. That's why another day at Meghan's school was blocked the day after. Full spotlight for Camilla!

Meghan photos suddenly appear on the Internet

Contrary to the agreement, photos of Meghan suddenly appeared on the website of the newspaper "The Evening Standard" on Thursday afternoon – and Camilla's appearance became second-class news. Royal reporter Richard Palmer writes on Twitter that it was Meghan who passed the photos on and it annoyed the journalists that they had been played off.

The National Theater shouldn't be happy with the coverage either, Palmer claims. It was "frustrated" that some of Meghan's previous visits had taken place under the exclusion of the press and that the current visit was now being used in the media to draw attention to Meghan. A day later, on Friday, the photos also appeared on Harry's and Meghan's Instagram account.

Yesterday, The Duchess of Sussex, Royal patron of the National Theater, visited the Immersive Storytelling Studio in London, where emerging technology like Virtual Reality is being used to develop new forms of emotive storytelling. Recently, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also visited Stanford University where part of their learning journey included a virtual reality presentation that allows the user to experience life through another person’s point of view. The goal of this method of virtual reality is to enable us to better connect and empathise with each other as people, regardless of race, age or nationality. If there were actually tensions between the two royal ladies, Camilla and Meghan did not show any signs of this during a joint appointment on Monday (March 9) in Westminster Abbey in London.

The problem with the press

Palmer points out that the couple's desire to only allow selected media for their appointments in the future or to only promote themselves on Instagram could become a problem: the projects and charities represented by Meghan and Harry don't get as much attention as at the time when the big London newspapers accompanied every appearance.

With her PR campaign, Meghan could have spoiled an important advocate in the royal family. Duchess Camilla is said to have been kind to Meghan so far. No wonder: from her time as Prince Charles' mistress, Camilla knows only too well what it is like to be teased by the British press.
