Alexandra von Hannover, Princess Isabella von Denmark & Co. have it, the coveted style gene. And that’s why we’re now looking at a trend style among the teen royals that we won’t be able to avoid this summer.
“In fashion every trend comes back” – a sentence that we have heard many times, right? And which once again proves to be true for this summer trend. Because what we are currently seeing in the young royals sounds somehow familiar to us: Wide leg trousers, i.e. pants that are cut wide from the hips, are celebrating their comeback.
Princess Isabella of Denmark, Lady Louise of Windsor or Alexandra of Hanover are currently using the pants trend from the 70s and combining the bell-bottoms with masculine elements. You can find out exactly how the styling works this season here.
Wide leg trousers: this is how you style the trend trousers
Bell bottoms conjure up a curvy silhouette due to the tight fit on the hips and the flared leg. This is a good starting point per se, on which you can best build with masculine pieces. Because with an oversize blazer or a wider cut shirt blouse you create a stylish break. Princess Isabella of Denmark solves the balancing act between masculine and feminine pieces in a particularly elegant way. Too grown up for a teen? Nothing! The light color of their combination still makes the 14-year-old look fresh and youthful.

This makes the look a bit cooler
It gets a little cooler if you choose the pants in a dark color. Lady Louise of Windsor, for example, shows herself in a duo in dark blue. The golden buttons give the look an additional military touch. A shoulder bag – like here from Chloé in powder pink – loosens up the whole thing.

Summery, tender AND casual: Alexandra von Hannover shows how it is done
The 21-year-old Alexandra von Hannover proves that the trousers can be perfectly styled for special occasions, such as a fashion week. In creamy-colored satin trousers, Caroline von Hannover’s daughter attends the Chanel Parisian haute couture show and once again shows that she has the styling gene. Alexandra combines the feminine trousers with a loosely fitting blouse top. A white belt with a jewelry buckle creates a perfect connection between the two parts. The 21-year-old also combines a shoulder bag and a striking chain – and the first-row look is ready.

Accessories? Not too much!
The young royals show how quickly and stylishly wide leg pants can be styled. Since the trousers are eye-catchers in themselves, only a few accessories are required, such as an eye-catching chain or belt, to perfect the look. It is best to put the trousers in the limelight with a reduced styling. When it comes to footwear, you are welcome to dare to do something again and use higher heel shoes – that conjures up endless legs!
