Brunei is in wedding fever! Prince Mateen will celebrate his marriage from January 7th to 16th, 2024 Anisha Rosnah Isa-Kalebic. A major royal event to which various high-ranking nobles from all over the world are expected.

2024 will be a special year for Prince Mateen of Brunei, 32: The son of Hassanal BolkiahSultan of Brunei, 77, gives Isa-Kalebic to his partner Anisha Rosnah said yes in January – in a ten-day wedding ceremony. “The upcoming wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen and Anisha Isa Kalebic will take place from January 7 to 16, 2024,” an official statement said in October. The actual wedding ceremony will take place on January 11th, after which the royal wedding reception will take place including an opulent banquet, at which numerous high-ranking guests from all over the world are expected. Also Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Walesboth 41, are said to be on the guest list.

The impressive life of Prince Mateen of Brunei

Prince Mateen is the tenth child and fourth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei and his former second wife Puan Hajah Mariam binti Haji Abdul Aziz, 67. He attended the best schools in Brunei before joining 200 recruits in May 2010 Sandhurst Royal Military Academy began its commission course for regular army officers. In April 2011, he completed the officer candidate course and was promoted to the rank of second lieutenant.

In addition to his military career, the royal also went to university, where he was just as disciplined. IIn July 2014, Prince Mateen completed his Bachelor of Arts in international politics at King’s College London, and in July 2016 he completed a Master of Arts in international studies and diplomacy at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.

A year after his master’s degree, the prince completed seven months of basic aviation training at RAF Cranwell before training as a helicopter pilot in March 2018. Three years later, Prince Mateen would be promoted to the rank of Major, the same year Prince Mateen also completed an eleven week course from All Arms Commando Course (AACC) at the Royal Marines Commando Training Center (CTCRM) in the United Kingdom, where he the Green Beret received. He also completed basic parachute training in September 2022.

Prince Mateen is determined and hard-working – even at the royal level. He has already taken part in various events on behalf of his family, including being present at the change of throne in Japan on October 22, 2019 and saying goodbye to him on September 19, 2022 in Westminster Abbey Queen Elizabeth, †96. The prince from Brunei could not be missing from the coronation of King Charles, 75, in May 2023 and the dream wedding of Jordanian Crown Prince Hussein, 30, in June.

But the royal not only cuts a fine figure on the royal stage, Prince Mateen is also involved in sports. He represented his country in polo at the 2017 and 2019 Southeast Asian Games, and almost 3,000 spectators watched the polo match between Brunei and Malaysia in 2017, in which Prince Mateen and his sister Princess Azemah competed against Malaysian Minister Khairy Jamaluddin. He still plays for the club today.”MB Polo Brunei”, Mateen is also a passionate boxer and kite surfer.

A penchant for luxury

The prince is now followed by over 2.4 million people on Instagram. When he was younger, the royal liked to show off his luxurious life, but today he rarely shares private snapshots and prefers to let his community share in his life in the service of the crown. But every now and then we can find clues as to what makes the Sultan’s son tick in his private life. Mateen seems to have a weakness for beautiful cars; at the beginning of 2023 he posed with a vintage car in front of a fantastic backdrop.

The prince also seems to be fond of elegant boats; in 2022 he celebrated his birthday on Lake Como in Italy and enjoyed the sun on the water.

Prince Mateen also shows off his toned body online every now and then, to the delight of his fans. In the In April 2016 he even graced the cover of the Thai edition of “GQ”.

The royal is only (still) keeping his future wife Anisha Rosnah out of social media. Will that change after the wedding? After all, the granddaughter of Pehin Dato Isa, special adviser to the Sultan of Brunei, will soon be an important face for the monarchy’s younger generation – and Mateen’s closest ally.
