Noble baby joy in the Mecklenburg-Strelitz family! Georg Alexander Duke of Mecklenburg and his wife Hande Duchess of Mecklenburg welcome their first baby together into the world.
Almost exactly a year after their church wedding Georg Alexander Duke of Mecklenburg, 32, and Hande Duchess of Mecklenburg became parents for the first time. The House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz announces this on its official X account (formerly Twitter) – and reveals other interesting details.

“This morning at 5:41 a.m. Duchess Hande of Mecklenburg gave birth to a little boy in Rotterdam,” says a new couple photo of Georg Alexander and his Hande on Saturday, September 23, 2023. This clarifies the location, time of birth and gender of the baby. Hande kept this quiet with her first baby bump photo on Instagram in July. The parents and child are “happy, tired and well.” How nice!
In 2022, the couple celebrated two weddings
On September 17, 2022, almost exactly a year ago to the day, Hande and the eldest son of Duke Borwin, 67, head of the House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, said their vows in church. The ceremony took place in the Protestant town church of the residential town of Neustrelitz.
After the public wedding service, a reception was held on the “Island of Helgoland in the city harbor of the Residenz from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.,” as the noble house announced via Facebook. Their civil wedding, which was much less pompous and smaller, was celebrated on June 17, 2022 at Mirow Castle, which is located on a picturesque island in the Mecklenburg Lake District.
