Prince Charles allegedly supports Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan in a matter he prefers to remain silent in public.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan: What Prince Charles does not want to admit publicly

Omid Scobie, co-author of Finding Freedom, claims that Prince Charles, 71, often felt compassion for Prince Harry, 35, and Duchess Meghan, 39. That includes Meghan's lawsuit against the newspaper "Mail on Sunday" over the publication of a private letter to her father Thomas Markle, 76. But Scobie also says that Charles is "too afraid to say it."

The reasons are obvious: The Royal Family is dependent on the media. She needs them to make her message and her service to the community visible to the outside world. Without any connection to the people, the monarchy as an institution loses its legitimacy. The clear majority of the English media and Royal experts have taken a critical stance towards the Sussexes. From a PR perspective, Prince Charles is therefore well advised to remain silent about Harry and Meghan's lawsuit in the current situation.

A source told Scobie for the book: "Charles is extremely focused on his public image and there have been times when Harry felt that this took precedence over everything else.
