Sudden death of Prince Gabriel’s military comrades shocked

Prince Gabriel of Belgium, 19, and his military comrades are in great mourning: Comrade Martin Malrait was found dead on September 25 during an exercise in Elsenborn, Belgium, on the German border. The local newspapers “Het Nieuwsblad” and “Het Laatste Nieuws” have now unanimously reported this. It is believed to have been a natural death, but no further details were given.

Like Gabriel, Martin started at the Royal Military School on August 22 and attended a five-week military camp in Elsenborn with the other 195 freshmen that ended on September 30. On this day they still marched in the “Blauwe Mutsen Parade” (Eng.: Blue Caps Parade) in Brussels, after having successfully completed their initiation phase. However, there was great sadness behind the proud faces. Because at that point her comrade Martin was already dead.

Queen Margrethe is said to have been very temperamental in her childhood

Ever since Queen Margrethe, 82, announced last week that the children of her second child, Prince Joachim, 53, will no longer be allowed to bear their prince and princess titles from 2023, there has been an uproar in the Danish royal family. Joachim in particular expressed his outrage several times at his mother’s decision. The monarch recently apologized, but the otherwise so colorful and fun-loving regent now has an image of an emotionally cold “Ice Queen”. Is this by chance?

Even during her childhood, Margrethe is said not to have been easy. When the 82-year-old grew up with her sisters Princess Benedikte, 78, and Anne-Marie von Greece, 76, she is said to have had a “distinct temperament” and “bitted her sister Benedikte once on the arm”, like “Hello! ” reported.

Even during her 50-year reign, the Queen often made negative headlines. For years she was criticized for her smoking habits in public. After a study was published in 2001 that dealt with deaths caused by smoking, Margrethe’s husband Prince Henrik, † 83, finally commented, according to the “Daily Mail”, and caused bewilderment: “We must not be impressed or influenced by political correctness . Let people die from smoking if they want to.”

Henrik is said to have always been upset that he was never made king. About a year before his death, he caused a stir again because he announced that he did not want to be buried next to his wife. “If she wants to bury me with her, she has to make me king consort,” he told Se og Hør, further expressing the resentment he harbored against Margrethe in no uncertain terms: “My wife didn’t show me the respect that an ordinary wife should give to her husband. She’s the one fooling me”.

Concern for Emperor Naruhito after prostate exam

So far, Emperor Naruhito, 62, has had no public health problems. Only in 2007 did he have to undergo surgery for a polyp on his duodenum. Most recently, he had made his first trip abroad since ascending the throne in May 2019: to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth, † 96, to London.

But now the Imperial Household Agency has come out with worrying news: his prostate exam blood results are showing a “slightly worrying” trend. Therefore, Naruhito will have to undergo an MRI examination of the prostate in November. With the imaging procedure, the affected organ can be examined more closely. Concerns about the emperor are justified. His father, Emeritus Emperor Akihito, 88, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and had to have an operation in early 2013.

Why was Prince Carl Philip’s son Alexander absent from Mantorp?

Prince Carl Philip, 41, had reason to be happy on Saturday, October 1st: he competed in the Porsche Carrera Cup at Mantorp Park and won two races. The Swedish prince celebrated this with a proper champagne shower on the winner’s podium. His wife Princess Sofia, 37, supported him in his success and also had their sons Prince Gabriel, 5, and Prince Julian, 1, with them, who cheered on dad Carl Philip in a cute way. Enchanting footage shows how the two boys hug their father after the race and later make the area unsafe. But one was missing: Where was Prince Alexander, 6?

The fact that the eldest son of the royal couple was not present on this family trip caused astonishment. Even the Swedish court does not seem to be able to clear up the matter. On the contrary, the cryptic statement further confuses. Annika Jeppsson from the Royal Court’s information department only told the newspaper “Svensk Damtidning” that she was “unable” to answer the question.

Princess Märtha Louise: Daughter Maud speaks about the death of father Ari Behn

It’s been almost three years since the world of three young girls suddenly stood still. When Ari Behn, † 47, passed away voluntarily on Boxing Day 2020, his daughters Maud Angelica, 19, Leah Isadora, 17, and Emma Tallulah, 14, were devastated. Now the eldest daughter of the artist and the Norwegian princess Märtha Louise, 51, is talking about the worst time of her life. The then 16-year-old impressed at her father’s funeral service on January 3, 2020 with an emotional speech. She told the mourners how much she misses him. Since then, Maud has stepped up her efforts to ensure that mental health receives more attention. In a recent interview with the newspaper “Dagens Naeringsliv” she says that she herself was surprised that she was able to speak in front of so many people on that sad day.

“I was in shock those days. I was in a bad mental state. So that I managed to do it and had the courage, I did it well,” she explains in retrospect. She was very nervous and had never spoken in front of so many people. But: “I also wanted something of value, out of all the horrible things. Something … beautiful. Something that would hopefully help others as well.” Now she wants to ensure that the topic of mental health is discussed even more openly. “If we talk about it the right way, we can save lives,” says Maud. “Learning how to live a good life, how to be a good person, how to help others – I can’t think of anything more important.”

Princess Märtha Louise dedicated touching words to her deceased ex-husband

The death of Ari Behn, † 47, on December 25, 2019, plunged his ex-wife Princess Märtha Louise, 51, and their three children Maud Angelica, 19, Leah Isadora, 17, and Emma Tallulah, 14, into deep sorrow. On September 30, the writer would have been 50 years old. On this occasion, the Norwegian princess posts moving lines. “Dear Ari, today we celebrated you. […] We would have put the muffins in bed while we sing the birthday song in the morning. Later we would have toasted you, kept talking, laughing and dancing while talking about serious stuff, philosophical stuff, funny stuff and everything in between,” she wrote of several recordings of Behn.

Instead, the mother and her three daughters brought the muffins and flowers to his grave and serenaded him “so loudly” that he “must have heard it.” “I just wanted to say we are thinking of you and you are very proud of our children,” she finally wrote.
